Craft Cocktails and Conversation Around South Bend | Cressy & Everett Real Estate

Whether you're on a date, grabbing a drink after work, or meeting up with friends, a cocktail bar makes a great, casual hangout. And the better the drinks, the better the conversation flows, too. Here are some of our favorite spots near South Bend homes for sale to enjoy craft cocktails with friends.

  • The Hideaway at the LaSalle - 237 N. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46601
If you're looking for a quiet, out-of-the-way spot, The Hideaway at the LaSalle feels like a well-kept secret. Located on the first floor of the LaSalle Apartments, they serve a variety of cocktails, from the Bee's Knees with gin, lemon juice, and honey, to the Ernest Hemingway favorite Death in the Afternoon with absinthe and sparkling wine. They also serve Moscow, Mexican, Kentucky, and Caribbean mules, plus beer, wine, and a wide selection of quality whiskeys. Go on "Manic Monday" for $1 off all signature cocktails, or on "Thirsty Thursday" for $5 mules and well drinks.

  • Hammer & Quill - 613 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46617
Some of the most interesting and creative cocktails in South Bend are at Hammer & Quill. Try the Monk's Garden Party with strega liqueur, sun-dried tomato-infused gin, and celery and cardamom bitters, or the Strawbasil Borealis with vodka, curacao, and strawberry-basil syrup. They also serve up small plates of everything from sandwiches to street tacos to cheese boards to elote—plus live music and more. Open Monday through Saturday, it's an experience like no other.

  • Sidebar - 201 S. Main St., South Bend, IN 46601
If you want an elegant, upscale vibe and drinks made from high-quality ingredients, check out Sidebar. They specialize in unusual but unforgettable offerings, like the spicy Dumpster Fire of '99 with poblano-infused mezcal, agave, hellfire bitters, mango, coriander, and spiced pear; or the Hive Special with goat cheese, thyme, honey, and gin. They also have a selection of no-ABV drinks and mocktails like the Fluere Smoked Agave or the Born Again Virgin. And the kitchen is open from 4-11 p.m., serving asparagus tarts, twice-baked truffle popcorn, and other uniquely delicious delicacies. It's a great place to go if you're feeling fancy.

  • Spirited - 105 E. Jefferson Blvd., Ste. 100, South Bend, IN 46601
For drinks that feel quirky and fun in a bar that feels relaxed and casual, head to Spirited. Their cocktail menu has a host of delicious offerings, from Honey I Shrunk the Fizz, with rye, lemon, lavender, honey, and green chartreuse; to I'll Habanother, with rum, gin, vodka, strawberry, and habanero. They also offer a variety of wines, available by the glass or by the bottle, as well as craft beers and more. It's a fun place to bring your friends for a whimsical night out.

  • The Exchange - 112 W. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46601
A whiskey and craft cocktail bar, The Exchange combines an upscale experience with a casual atmosphere.
